    Description: The course will focus on the significance of Hausa ceremonies and festivals with their roles in national integration. It also introduces students to the knowledge of Hausa ceremonies such as naming and marriage, bikin na?in sarauta etc. traditional and modern Hausa festivals, e.g. bikin bu?ar dawa, kalankuwa, bikin salla, bikin saukar karatu, bikin nunin amfanin gona and many others, will also be examined. Traditional and sitting games: dambe, kokawa, tauri, farauta, ga?a, langa, allan-ba-ku dara, ?wado, karta and others will also be examined and analysed.

Types of traditional medicinal treatment conducted by Ungozoma, sarkin Aska, Boka, `Yarmaiganye and Magori as well as Sarkin Mayu, Sarkin Ruwa, Sarkin Makera and others are given special attention. Medicinal treatment given by Allaramma and Malam as well as debi-jika type of treatment are also included. The psychology of Hausa traditional medicine and the effect of modernization on the medicine will also be studied.
